Somatic Psychotherapeutic Experience
People experience emotions, behaviors, and perceptions that are shaped by core life themes, which are explored as part of the therapeutic process. These themes include love and appreciation, freedom and responsibility, control and power, openness and honesty, safety and belonging, spirituality, social and cultural influences. Hakomi uses the mind-body connection to bring awareness to the memories and core beliefs that shape how we create meaning in our lives.
In guiding clients toward healing, we collaborate to create “experiences” that explore how an individual is psychologically organized around thoughts, tensions, impulses, sensations, memories, meaning, and core beliefs. As awareness expands, clients move toward transformation through the healing process.
Nattalie provides individual therapy for adults. She continues to embrace the healing process with clients in the present moment. She is honored to guide and witness the unfolding of their growth as they move toward greater self-awareness and transformation.
The secret of health for both mind and body is not to mourn for the past nor to worry about the future but to live the present moment wisely and earnestly. -Buddha
Hakomi Therapy
The Hakomi method is integrated into therapy sessions. Hakomi is a Hopi Native American word that means "Who are you?". It is a gentle form of somatic psychotherapy that combines non-violence principles of Eastern Philosophy, traditional Western Psychology, and body-centered techniques utilizing mindfulness. The Hakomi method focuses on issues arising in the present moment.
